Baby Shower Game Ideas
Unique Baby Shower Game Ideas are hard to come by and picking the right baby shower game is important! Games at any Baby Shower are important as it is a part of thanking the guests for attending, having fun, and making memories. In making for sure that you select the perfect baby shower game for your next shower, consider if you can tie the baby shower game in with the theme and setting of the Shower. For example, if you have gone way out to plan a traditional Couples Baby Shower, you would want to pick a game that both men and women would enjoy but would be a much cleaner game than one you may have at a baby shower with just the girls. Below you will find a list of ideas and some free printable baby shower games that you can print today and use at your next shower. Also check out our baby shower clip art to see if any would be perfect on your free printable baby shower games!
Name the Baby
This is the perfect game to play at a Baby Shower in which the expecting parents have not decided on a name for the baby! Have each of the guest come with a name for each letter of the alphabet and the one who completes the list first is the winner!
Variations: if the expectant mother chooses on of the names on a specific guest’s list, then you can allow that guest to be the winner.
Pass out sheets of paper and have everyone list as many items needed for a new baby as they can. You can time it an/or make them record a necessity for each letter of the alphabet.
Bad Parenting – Great Idea for a Couples Baby Shower
Give everyone two small sheets of paper and have them write down two of the worst admitable mistakes they made as parents. When they are finished, have them fold the paper up and toss them in the middle of the floor. Then have each guest pick up two of the pieces of paper and sit back down. As you go around the room, allow each guests to read the mistakes and see if they can guess who made them.
My Water Broke – Great Idea for a Traditional Baby Shower (with the girls)
Fill an ice tray up with water and place miniature babies inside. Place them in the freezer and then serve everyone ice with their drink at the party. The person who’s ice completely melts first will scream out “My Water Broke,” and they would be declared the winner!

Print out a blank BINGO Card and allow the guest to write down some of the items they think the expectant mommy will receive. As the mommy-to-be begins opening gifts, they play along.
You can say the babies name or use this handout and see how well the guests know their animals! Use hard ones like Cygnet/Swan, Hatchling/Alligator, and Squab/Dove.
Who doesn’t Sudoku? You can use this for an Office Baby Shower or a Co-ed Baby Shower. You can use this printable baby shower game or you can create your own based on your own theme. Simply use a Sudoku Game and copy and paste any baby images, clip art or your favorite characters to it
Scrap Book Making
Allow each guests to make a page that will go in a scrap book and add the pictures taken at the shower at a later date.
First you need to purchase or select a pack of cards and identify one specific card as unique. Hand everyone a card and the person who receives the “unique” card is it and every time they wink at someone that person is now expecting! They must act out how they would respond to the news and then lay their head on the table or sit quietly in a designated area. Whoever identifies the source without getting winked at is the winner!
Baby Shower Price is Right
Purchase a bunch of baby items and lay them out on display for the guest to see if they can correctly guess the total amount spent on each item. The guest closest to the actual sum is the winner.
Safety Pin Find
Mix long grain rice with small safety pins and blind fold the guest. The guest who picks out the most safety pins wins!
Everyone starts out with two or three clothes pins and they are instructed not to say “baby.” If they do, the person who catches them will get one of their safety pins. At the end, who ever has the most pins wins.
Who’s that Baby?
Have all the guests bring in an infant photo of themselves and pass them around to see who can guess which infant photo matches which guest.
Ode to Baby
Have everyone write a poem to the baby and let the expectant mommy pick which on she likes the best
If this is a family baby shower, have them build a family tree for the new baby to appreciate later.
Build Baby’s First Bear
You could have the guests build the baby a stuffed animal using a naked stuffed animal and supplies from a craft store.
You could purchase plain white onesies and break the guests up into group and allow them to decorate the babies onesies. Variation: Allow the guests to design a onesie from scratch on paper and allow the expectant mommy to pick the winner!
Baby Hot Potato
We’ve all played Hot Potato, in this version, you could simply use a doll to pass around and play lullabies.
With diapers and doll babies see which guests can dress a doll the fastest! Or you could see which guests can simply put the diaper on the doll the quickest!
Classic and a lot of fun especially if men will be attending the shower! Have your stations set up to allow someone to fold laundry, iron, flip a pancake, change a diaper, etc. As the guest goes up to began their duties, the others watching can shout out “distractions” like “the baby is crying,” “the phone is ringing,” etc.
Perfect for any Co-ed Baby Shower, use these questions, a huge poster board, and some index cards to play this popular game at your next shower.
Print off this free baby shower word scramble game and whoever finishes first is the winner.
Figure out how many words the guests can get out of the baby’s name.
These can also be used as name tags! Print off the mini diapers and place “poop” in one. Pin them on the guests as they arrive and who ever gets the poop wins or looses! It’s up to you!
Have you Ever
This is a cool game where you come up with a list of questions that all start with “Have you ever.” Then you give each guest a sheet of about 5 questions and have them go around the room and see if they can find someone who has actually done what the questions asks! Examples would be:
- “Have you ever lost your kid in the store?”
- “Have you ever pinched your child while buckling them into the seat belt?”
- “Have you ever replaced a deceased favorite pet?
Have the guest attempt to do multiple things at once under time restraints. For example, you could have the guests where a pillow, to resemble pregnancy, answer the phone, hang clothes on a homemade clothesline, and iron. See video below
