The Responsibilities of the Baby Shower Caterer
Baby Shower catering is not something most people pay for! The responsibility is usually either handled by the host herself or appointed to someone else who is assisting in the planning or is simply just close to the expecting parents. However the duties of the baby shower caterer or not that difficult and if you like to cook, or prepare a food table, you may actually enjoy it. Below is a guideline for you to follow if you will be catering at a baby shower. It starts at approximately one month prior to the shower.
Three weeks prior to Shower:
- Decide on your Menu and where you will purchase your items
- Check with the Decorator to obtain the theme
Two weeks prior to Shower:
- Order your cake
- Order any veggie/meat/cheese/fruit trays – inform them that you will not pick them up until the day of the Shower
- Purchase any special items. For example:
- Cake pans
- Serving Trays
- Ice Bucket – can use infant bathtub
- Punch Bowl and Serving Spoon
Day of the Shower:
- Decorate and set up the food table
- Pick up any ice
- Make punch
- Help with clean-up
